Hey, I bought this because I was waiting forever for my SMB system to arrive. Actually I had forgotten about it it had been so long. Sure as shit less than a week later, I get an email. Guess what is coming.
A week earlier I coughed up $1100 on a very nice 3" stainless HKS catback system. Here it is: (note the cat- that means its authentic, dudes)

I guess I would like something in the vicinity of $800, which is $400 off the shelf price for what is basically a week old system. Let us know what u think...

You can also hear it http://hughness.blogspot.com/
It is less than a week old. All offers considered. Obviously I would like to get most of my money back, so the best offer secures it. A good opportunity to secure what is virtually a brand new catback exhaust at a fair price.

thats a nice looking muffler man! why don't you just keep the hks on there and sell off the smb? you dont have to be like the rest of the sheep... :D *waits for retaliation from smb owners* :)

Shouldn't you have just cancelled your order with SMB after you ordered the hks one? Kind of mind boggling really!

Well i hope you get most of the money back on which ever one you sell.. id keep the HKS one.. well mainly because its already on the car, looks fucking awesome and everyone else has a SMB exhaust.

True enough. It sure sounds quite nice. I drove it from Shellharbour to Goulburn last week and didnt get a headache from it. Actually sounded very nice. I guess if someone coughs up something near to what I paid for it, I'll let it go. Otherwise, as you suggested, just flog the smb

mate its already on the car, you have just said you liked the note of it and it didn't give you a headache.. i wouldn't even consider selling the HKS now... sell the smb straight off.. change this thread to SMB cat back for sale :) someone will snap it up too pretty quick i would imagine!

Hmmm. I'll sit on it for a night and stew... The thing is, I ordered the whole 3.5" smb deal. Turbo back, all bells and whistles. Shit, its gonna be hard passing that over. Still, I can't have two...

not to mention man the smb is brand new in wrapping never opened or mounted on car.. you can sell as brand new! :)

the hks is technically second hand, doesnt matter if it is only a week old you know what im saying.

youll get better money for the smb :) thats how i see it anyways.

man that exhaust sounds pretty good. I just got my smb one this week and I hope it sounds as good as that hks one.

Hey, Ras. Yes, I was very impressed and I have to say a little surprised to discover how good it sounded after hearing a few stories about how tinny some of them sound. This one sounds very nice, probably a little louder than the SMB? Not sure. Let us know how it goes.

OKAY STOP PRESS, dudes. Spoke to SMB and they graciously cancelled my order. Very decent of them. So, I'll keep what's on there. Sorry about all the fuss.

Yeah, Andy, they very very generous about cancelling the order. I was happy to cough up because it was a "custom job", but they were cool about it. Can't ask for more than that. Someday, maybe, I'll get the full deal. For now, we have a house to pay for....

Hey, Andy. They were very generous about it too, which surprised me. Someday I will get a full exhaust. But for now, there are just too many bills to pay...See ya mate

Hey Hugh, how long from SMB order 'till the time they called to tell you it's ready?

I have heard that they don't keep stuff on the shelf, they build to order apparently.

Hi Steve. I think it was around 2 months all up. Originally I was gonna get Rotormaster to do the whole thing, but after weeks of planning they got my order wrong and had to start again. That was late Dec 08, so, you could say it has been dragging on for 3 months. Realistically, about 8 weeks. I feel shitty that I let them down but they were happy about it. I am shittier that I dont have it. Should never have bought the other one, but, its okay. I'll get over it...
