Good price and good nick are at opposite ends of the spectrum!!

$4000 thereabouts for the last set that I knew of. Very comfy though.

Good luck.

Not something that comes up very much.

If you have the cash, you could buy some brand spanking new ones from Mazda Japan.

Yeah for like $10k isn't it? Probably better seats you could buy for that much. Has probably also tripled in price since I last heard.

your better off buying aftermarket recaros.. will cost you the same in the end.. except youll get new recaros for the price of the second hand oem red recaros

you'd be crazy to buy recaros for $4k in my opinion when you can go to a proper interior trimmer and have them retrim (front seats, rear seats, door trims) for around $1.5-3.5K, and that gets you good leather, the colours you want and you could even have them embroid recaro on the seats or have them replicate the Bride seats if thats what you're after. Thats what i'll be doing in a few weeks and for my money its so much better value.

Depends what you want.....

The Oem ones fit heaps better. They dont rub on the door like aftermarket Recaros. They are also half the weight, and the carbon looks great too.

Due to the oem ones being so rare, it makes the car have something different, over all the other Fds out there.

Fdnewbies ones arent cheap either, last time i looked, when i was searching for my pair, was $3800 Us...plus shipping

Even aftermarket Recaros arent cheap. A new "speed" recaro is $1000 each, plus $350 for rails each side.

Or even a second hand set is 1200, and the trim is all worn out.

I actually found a company that makes copies of s8 fixed back recaros in japan...

can dig it up if your keen... obviously wouldnt be anywhere near the quality of the factory seats.

I would also like to add a question that goes unasked the majority of the time..

It has been stated that these seats are comfortable. But if you are 6ft and 90kg or there abouts would you still find them comfortable.

Let there be no misconception that the Australian compliance FD's came out with larger seats for our bigger body's. I personally find my S8 RS seats comfy but they sure as hell give me a saw back later on??

SAME!.. buy a bit of foam about 4-5cm thick and u can shove it in between the cushion and improve lumbar support!

I'm 6ft and just under 90kg.....they are terrific.

I've driven interstate in the car, no worries.

The only comfort issue is the wallet one. You need to take it out of your back pocket as the padding is pretty thin on the base, so it jabs into your ass a bit if you don't remove it.
