RX7 Series 8, Type R
Price: $22,000 Neg.
Km: 143,000 km
Colour: White
Interior Colour: Black
Engine: Stock 13B, rebuild 15k km ago
Transmission: Manual
I’m the second Australian owner, a mechanical engineer and rotary enthusiast. My RX7 has been serviced every 5,000km, and is lovingly maintained by Automotive Plus in Aspley. The car has QLD rego until September 2014. It is properly warmed up without fail, and never boosted until reaching full operating temperature.
The Series 8 Type R is superior to the more common RB badged Series 8's, having dual oil coolers and the more powerful set of twin turbos. It is also significantly lighter.
After a blow coolant seal, the engine has been fully rebuilt at 128,000 km by Simon Bradbury at Automotive Plus (ex Rotary Motorsport, and has been building rotors for 20 years), using brand new housings. The turbos were replaced at the same time with near new set of S8 turbos (with only 25,000 km), obtained from Drew at Sir20B.
The modifications are subtle and tasteful, but bring out more of the car’s potential. They include:
*Custom 3" full exhaust with Autoexe muffler (sounds moderate but deep when driving normally, but still sounds awesome at when you get on the loud pedal!)
*Tein Superstreet coilovers
*Projector HID retrofit - Not simply HID bulbs in stock housings, but proper projectors fitted to achieve an excellent cutoff and uniform light. These were the best upgrade I’ve done to the car!
*60mm gauges in FlyRX7 pod - Water temp, oil temp and oil pressure
*Pioneer head unit featuring iPod connectivity and SD card, with Hertz 6.5” speakers.
*17” RPF1 wheels can be included at additional cost
*I also have a HKS T04S single turbo kit that can be included at additional cost, if still available (The kit has been advertised separately).
