hey guys

I had a plazaman fmic installed in my car early this year. Although the fmic works great and it definitely gave the turbos a bit of a kick, I've decided to go to a SMIC for track use.

It also comes with a metal ast if you want it - it's included.

The cooler has literally only been used on the car for maybe 200km's at most, I've hardly driven the car since january as it's a weekender and I've been working pretty much every weekend

It cost 2k for the cooler before install.

Located in south of sydney not far from sutherland.

This is it on the car ;

just remember dude that u have to tell who ever buys your kit, that they either need to butcher the support bar, or alternatively and smartly... untack it [take the welds off it].. and order thru Plazmaman the replacement support bar that is made custom to suit the pipework + still retain [if ur half smart and repaint it when its back on the car so u can make it hidden and not an eye sore for a copper to pick up unless u wanna go thru all the ADR bullshit]...

because he has either replaced your support bar where the pipes go side the bar... or its been butchered which will stand out like dogs nuts when u pulled the whole system off hte car....

Daz and I pulled mine off and it wasn't butchered it just had two neat brackets welded to the front of it with a re-enforced bar between the two. Completely invisible from inside the engine bay so i can't see how a copper would ever pick up on it, in fact if you weren't an FD guy you probably wouldn't even notice anything.

Who did your install by the way mav? Was it plasmaman himself?

Nekryd

that sounds like plazmaman, cause hes revised his design on hte support bar from the looks of things... or his pipework...

because he used to detac the original, replace it to fit the pipework... i guess hes just bitten the bullet and modified the pipework to suit or something...

I'm not sure of it's horsepower rating but it's a big sucker. it's pretty new, i think it is their 'current one' still.

cant belive this hasnt been sold yet! these coolers flow over 700hp. iv fitted plazmaman coolers to all my own and my customers cars. also seen one of thes coolers being made, hours of work go into making those endtanks out of sheetmetal.

yeah i thought it would go in minutes. if it doesn't sell here soon I'll advertise it on sau or something, it'll go there pretty quick. i thought it'd be a good near drop in for fd owners.

Yeah, the last one i saw on sau went for $1600 (asking price) and you don't see them that often, i looked for ages for mine & ended up having to buy it new.

So tempting. But I'm worried about the air flow to the radiator after this gets slapped in.

There's got to be someone that's not worried about those kind of things out there. The longer it sits on sale, the more tempted I am to buy it haha.

Air still passes through it to a degree besides FDs run thermo fans to generate air speed around the radiator. My plazmaman cooled fd only ever gets hot if i'm sitting at like 120k on the freeway on a 40+ deg day for a long time. Traffic etc isnt a problem and thats with stock rad.

If i had another stock FD i wouldnt even think twice about which cooler to fit, it'd be a plazmaman fmic straight up right away even at full retail price let alone this bargain. I just dropped mine back to plazmaman for a reco, can't wait to get it back all shiny again :D

ok... so does it need a modded support bar? haven't looked at mine, does it come with the ast still, and are you willing to ship to tas for that price incl? if you answer no, yes, yes i'll take it :D

sejanus

it was on my car, with everything that you se in the pic. Yep it comes with the ast still, but not shipping to Tassie for that price sorry. It'd be $1100 + shipping which is still dirt cheap.

Thumbs up for a heavily underpriced FMIC someone please buy it. I'm going from FMIC to SMIC as well, just waiting for it to be complete. good luck with sale :)

ok well perhaps someone who has had theirs apart could tell me if the support bar in the pic is modified or not, as I haven't pulled mine apart before so I'd like to find out first before I say yes or no... and post costs to tas??
