Don't mean to go off track here, but I am running the NGK platinum plugs and these puppies have been in the car for just on 12 months without a problem. I am gonna replace them soon. But 12 months is a good innings for plugs, no?

A set of plugs should last you 30,000 km + unless your misfiring or flood get oil or guck on them no need to replace .

Check them for wear and tear .

Are these the flat surface plugs ? i had heaps of trouble fitting the plugs with the hook top (love me awsum mechanical wording skillzz).

Reason for this is the nut sits alot closer to the block and there is a nice lip around where the spark plugs fits on the block that is god damn annoying and it wont let you tighten the plug unless you have a REALLY thin socket to fit between the sparkplug and the lip on the block..
something that i thought i would throw in there.. i broke a few of my own things coz i was soo god damn angry!!! so i bit the bullet and bought another 4 platinum ones that fit straight in there, same size as the stock ones :)

Hey mate

These are the "hook top" ones, in your language...lol

Yes you must use good quality tools to install. Cheap quality sockets dont work. Only good quality sockets, have the thin wall. The cheap cast ones have a thick wall.

IMHO 30k is a ridiculous length of time for a set of plugs on the FD...I recommend every 5-10k dependant on how the car is used. I change mine every 3k

Also EGV require a thin sidewall on the socket. Unless you have an ultra thin socket the casing will catch on the Rotor Housing and will not allow you to fully install the plugs. You need to shave the end off your own spark plug socket in order to fit. It is quite easy if you have a Dremel or some form of Grinding tool.

They are also NON compatible with CDI Ignition Amps because they are NON Resistor Plugs...

Here the socket :)
