There is a new version released of the old shoutbox we had until yesterday..

Assuming it works, what's your preference?

I prefer some of the features on the other one...but the detach feature is great..

The recent threads on the right is also less distracting than the current threads being shown inline with the chat text..

I am easy either way though...

Yeah...I prefer the other one for the notification box, the drop down menu on the left (the bitchslap function), etc!!.

i like how the thread notifier in this one comes up during the chat. It keeps the window clean, the notifier on the right hand side on the old one looked messy to me.

It looks like having the forum replies inline in the chatbox encourages faster responses to posts.. Or perhaps that's just Andy trying to inflate his post count.. :p

I reckon that is spot on, actually.

Maybe it's a good idea to keep this current one to promote posting and get the forum firmly established?

The current one is pissing me off.

Can we at least turn off the notifications or something...? The previous one that had them on the right was a much better idea.

And what happened to the chatbox rules...? Too much gay shit happening, but the rules are not there for people to see.

Dave's going to send me the source for this chatbox, I intend to modify it so that users have the option of turning off the post notifications; however I believe that the default should be to show them.

Found out tonight, a few people are experiencing major problems with this chatbox in regards to performance. Lagging, and therefore not working on their screens....
Maybe it is better if we investigate the first option, and fixing its performance issues (Possibly related to DB indexes...)
