2,500 sounds like a good price to me. I would assume its not dry carbon though. If you cant afford the genuine article, there are other options around.

what is the difference between dry and wet carbon.. besides price :p

Manufacture technique mainly. Dry carbon is resin-infused in an autoclave (kiln) while wet carbon is laid up like firbreglass.

The result is slightly less weight due to less resin being used. It is also stronger (per gram). It is only really used when weight actually matters, like for a serious race car. It also uses less actual carbon weave.


Having said that, the weight difference is not that much, and even the fibreglass one is extremely well made, and light as a result. There is only 400 grams or so difference between the wet carbon and fibreglass. And only about the same again between wet and dry carbon.

it might go straight through.. no customs issues.. then again it might not. Nengun have to state its worth on the customs form when they send it... i have never had an issue with anything internation yet.. everytime i have bought some thing from overseas i have requested them put "gift" on the form..

The hood is over sized so we have to use another freight service. The cost to fly the part in is around 58,000 Yen plus the cost of the part. We maybe able to get the part though EMS so the freight price will be a lot cheaper. We have sent other hoods before and they cost around 58,000 Yen to send via Air freight.

yeah they appear on yahoo auctions alot, but they are highly sought after. For a nice one, the cost is usually similar to a new one.
