Default WTB: S8 inlet air guide.

    Hi Guys,

When I got my RX the front Air dam was missing as they didn't acquire one when they replaced the pods for compliance. As I'm not planning to go back to the pods I figure that I should get the the air dam back in there so that all is right. So does anyone have one lying around? Happy to pickup if someone has one in Vic somewhere.

The pic shows the bit I'm after incase I've been a bit vague...

    Regards,
    Jeremy

Year of your car helps. It's a different part for early or late versions.

Is there a difference in S8 versions of this duct? Thread subject says S8.

    I know of 3 versions.

    Zenki (S6)
    Chouki (S7)
    Kouki (S8)

    Yes there is a difference.

After 1999 (possibly 1996) Jap spec, the duct was redesigned. The later one features air pick up's right behind the edge of the front bumper bar (facing downwards behind the bar). The earlier ones only have a pick up that takes air from the intercooler ducting.

The thread title was edited after I posted my first reply.

Not 100% sure on when this changed, but fairly certain it was 1999 onwards.

    I edited the title.

Dutchy has a version VI RS.

Haha thanks guys, I had a feeling that I had forgotten something while I was typing it out. Too much stuff going on! Not to mention I didn't really no what to name the thing. Air inlet guide make much more sense!

But yeah Gomez is spot on, it is the Jap spec S8 version VI RS (10/2000). And I do believe it originally had the one with the pickup that didnt starve the intercooler. Thus this is the one that I am after.
Anyone keen to offload one? Surely there's a few hiding in peoples sheds post pods or single turbs upgrades??

    I've seen 3 different versions.

    1. The early version up to 95.
    2. The 96-98 year version. (still stole air from the intercooler duct) - Just looked a bit different. This was on the JDM models w/later solenoid boxes 16 bit ECU. I don't know about AU models which still had the old style rates nest 8-bit ECU etc...
    3. The 99+ version.

    Hey Crispy_fd,

That's fantastic! I'm assuming that due to the 2 openings that it has this is the one that I'm looking for. Can anyone who has seen both types confirm for me please?

    I'll flick you a PM.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
