I remember reading a thread on rx8 club on that a while ago

There was a rumor brought up that the front diff of a 94-02 Kia Sportage carried a crown wheel and pinion that would fit

Was cheap to buy new too

However, I do remember that a guy went and bought one to try it, and it didn't fit. He ended up buying a FEED set

Great to make these kinda suggestions but unless you have tried it yourself and can be sure it works, I personally wouldn't start someone on what may well be a misled path....

    Here's the thread: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=77054

Page 12 is where the guy reports the KIA parts won't fit in an RX8 (therefore same for FD)

I'm happy to stand corrected if someone has done this before on an FD, but I'm afraid it isn't as easy as one would hope.

Duane, nvpasnger (sp?) on other forums, uses the kia cwp sets on the old mazda diffs....unfortunately not this one.

If the 5.125 low tooth count pinion chews out as frequently as they do on the modest power, ip cars, probably be avoiding it myself. Imagining drift is pretty hard on the driveline.
