How much does it cost to repair my turbocharger? Our base price for a repair is $850.00 Including GST, and this price is applicable to a turbocharger that goes through the standard rebuild procedure, that is:

Strip
Clean
Quote
Test Actuator assembly
Standard Rebuild Kit fitted
Balance
Re-Assemble

Quite often, we will strip and clean the turbocharger and find it requires more than a standard rebuild, these other processes can include:

Turbine side ring area machining
Compressor side ring area machining
Honing of the bearing housing
Grinding of the wheel & shaft assembly
Sleeving of the turbine housing (to repair corrosion mainly seen on marine engines)
Removing broken studs and heli coiling bolt holes
Supply new actuator
Re-welding V-Band assemblies
Supplying a new compressor wheel or turbine wheel
Supplying new bearing housing
Supplying a 360 Degree thrust bearing kit

These above processes and parts will incur an added cost on top of the $850.00.

Don't forget the rebuild price is FROM $850 for each turbo.
I spoke to Bronwyn from GCG who confirmed it would be classed as 2 turbo rebuild.
So would cost $1700 for the twin rebuild.

A little bit more info on these guys,

'They are currently at GCG right now waiting for a strip and quote..

They are Hi flow units with standard cores, so no Garrets are installed in these puppies.

They have been modified for non sequential at this stage but with another exhaust housing they can be converted back.

I will keep you all updated.
