    Default Crashed 2001 RB RX7

    Hi All,

Long story short, I was involved in an accident and my insurance company has decided my car is a repairable write off.

They have given me the opportunity to purchase the car.

Car had 56km's on dash at time of crash

    Damage
    - both front quarter panels
    - Driver side front suspension
    - driver side rear suspension
    - driver side rear panel

There is NO damage to the engine or components

Have removed the Power FC and replaced with stock ECU
The Bride Lo-Max's are still in the car

    I'm looking for $10k+

Need this sold by mid next week or insurance company keeps it.

    0410 355 440

P.S. Have lots of other goodies sitting in the garage that I will be selling in the following weeks (AST, mirrors, stock leather seats) so keep an eye out.

Why not buy it back yourself and repair it??? I'm assuming you will get a pay out anyway. It looks all relatively cosmetic for the most part...

But obviously you wont be able to insure it with them again

This has unfortunately coincided with some very hard financial times, I can't afford to repair it.

So take the full payout value and forget trying to sell it yourself. Let them worry about it.

Unless it sells by mid next week, that's what's happening.

They are pretty much f**ked after the crash. Only 1 of them is undamaged.

Real shame to see an FD like that!...

GLWS. But if you looking for prospect buyers, you should atleast be providing engine / interior pics as well.

Figured I'd try and make up some form of lost money from this ordeal.

If I can flip it to someone who wants it, all well and good. If not they keep it.

Agreed, restoring will cost you more than double what you estimate and is a big headache. I only repaired mine (and it wasn't nearly that bad) because FDs were so rare in Europe and I couldn't find any good ones.

Take the money and run, if you can be bothered buy the wreck back and sell the bits off but you could be waiting a while to get rid of it all and let's face it money is time.

Sorry to see it like that also, shame about the wheels also. I quite like them on FDs.

What AST have you got? I could be interested. I already have 1 but not sure it will fit between battery and Greddy SMIC.

Don't mean to come across arrogant and rude but you will struggle to get 10k for this with that amount of damage. Salvage value on this car is probably more like 5k and to be honest that would be top dollar at a salvage auction. My advice is take the full payout and walk away as it is better than buying it back, even if you have the opportunity to buy it back for 5k.

You may have thought of this already but If you really want to buy the wreck Id suggest try to knock the insurance company down on price.
Im not sure whos insurance is paying out (yours or someone elses) but on the 2 occasions i have made insurance claims i once managed to argue up the price they wanted to pay by quite a bit, and also haggle down the price for the wreck on the other occasion.
Best of luck whichever way you decide,

I'm not happy with the direction this thread is taking.

XX77 - if you actually decide to sell anything, start an appropriate FS thread, as this one has been cleaned up and is closed for further comment.
