Where the hell do you keep getting these cars? If you do decide to part it out i'll take the intake ducting for the intercooler. Need a S8 type.

Would be an easy fix I'd imagine, although the front-bar / reo and associated bits adds up in cost. Still looks like a clean car.

Is it a full exhaust system (cat?) or just cat back?

I saw someone paid about $400 for that style of sill protector plate on Yahoo! Auctions the other week (NOS).

I wonder how hard it would be to transfer that alarm system to another car?

By the way how do you get the rear parker / side marker lights to light up? Mine don't illuminate. Must be an RB-S feature? Seen it on Type-X cars also.

No idea on the lights Gav.

Yes pretty easy fix and damage isn't major. Like you say the bits that are required are highly sought after and a little difficult to come by but not impossible. Dazda currently has a brand new bar skin available unless it was sold recently.

At the end of the day I still may source these and have a panel shop do the repairs to put the car back on the road but haven't yet decided what I'll do. Of course parting it out is also and option but would be a shame with one as clean as this and I'd personally like to see it back on the road!

Yep, Apexi exhaust cat back only as stated in the ad which on the factory ECU is prob the max that would be safe anyway to stay away from spiking. Original dump and mid section are on the car.

I wouldn't like to attempt the swap of alarm to another car, it seems like a pretty sophisticated style of alarm. Then again, wiring has always been my least favourite part of working on cars!

Damage seems pretty minor...surprised the owner didn't want to fix it and keep it on the road.

My old reo and front lip could have gone on this!

I'm pretty sure all S8s light up standard Gav, not sure about earlier FDs, a lot of compliance shops unhooked them and smoked the lenses for ADR reasons.

Yeah it was the same rules in Ireland they wanted to blank off or smoke the rear 1/4 reflectors but I would always find a way around it come NCT time (like Green Slip / Pink Slip in NSW), I suspect my loom may have been cut. I'll have to climb under the car and look.
