    Default FS: Hoists

Sick of laying in the shit trying to do something underneath.....if you've got an FD, maybe you should consider a little bit of luxury to prop up the reputation that you've got a car that spits seals at every opportunity.

Not mine, but I'm always tripping over them, believe there's three 2 posts, a 4 post and a scissor lift available. Weight limit of 3 tonne to 3.5 from memory, prices circa 3k, installation around 700 if it's needed (Syd). PM for details.

    would you need 3phase?

also what kind of clearance is required for that kind of setup?

a hoist would be so cool...

    I've got a Scissor Lift..

Cost me about $2K 3 years ago..

Came out of China I believe..

    Hydraulic powered, it lifts 6000lbs 48" ..

Lifted my old 300E Merc with ease!

The FD lives on it, only problem being I had to build some ramps to get enough height to clear everything - I used Railway sleepers!

One of the best toys ever, makes working on the car so much easier ..

I don't have enough height in my garage or I would have bought a 2 or 4-poster probably.

Don't quote me, lifting height is around 1.8m, expect the posts would require 2.5 or so....3m ceiling probably needed....unless you like a compact.

Most have been sold into workshop environments, so expect they'd all be 3 phase, company sparky mentioned they'd change the motor(?)/connection(?) for single phase operation some time ago....as they were listed 240/415.

3 phase at home isnt a big deal anyway. Was only a couple of hundred extra to have it wired into our place when the sparkies were re-wiring the house.

Yes, the sparky mentioned it does run past pretty much every house in Australia. Do seem to notice that things with 3 phase just seem to work nicer too.
